It’s a strange paradox that the world of women’s shoe design is dominated by men. Well Minna Parikka isn't prepared to live in a world like that, and she's on a mission to change it.
A lifelong shoe-lover herself, Minna creates designs that combine elements of sensuality, playfulness and contemporary design. Crafted in Spain from only the finest materials and with unparalleled attention to detail, Minna's shoes have helped countless women build their own style from the ground up.
Although her main focus and first love will always be footwear, Minna plans to build a whole strong universe around her shoes. Buttery soft leather gloves were added to the mix in 2009 and in Spring 2011 Minna is launching a line of bags to complement the range.
The Helsinki based designer's accessories have graced the feet and bodies of women all over the world, including Paloma Faith, Beth Ditto from the Gossip, Maja Ivarsson from the Sounds and Dita von Teese. The Minna Parikka flagship store was opened in Helsinki in 2008, and her designs are sold in 14 countries. Her work has been featured in several international publications including Vogue, Vogue Pelle, Elle, Glamour, Marie Claire, Grazia, Collezioni, Neo2, WAD, Flair, Tatler, Harper's Bazaar, Playboy and Sleek, just to name a few. She even has her very own first class postage stamp in Finland.
